Collection and Use of Your Information
Information We Collect Directly from You
When visiting our Sites, you may opt in to provide us with your name and email address in order to create an account. If you choose to endorse an Educator who registers for an account, we will collect, use, and share your information in the following ways and as otherwise described under "How we share and disclose your information" below.
Name & email address
When endorsing an Educator, we will create an internal account profile with your name and email address so that we attribute current and future gifts to you. We use this information to correspond with you regarding transactional activity, which may include confirmation emails, receipts, and updates.
Gift & payment information
Display name & messages
When you make an endorsement, you will have the option to choose a name to be displayed with your message. You may opt to hide your message from the generally available Fan Page. Otherwise, your display name and comments shall be deemed to be public information, which means it is non-confidential and Fanschool shall have no obligation of any kind with respect to it. This information will be publicly posted on the Educator's Fan Page.
We collect the following information when you sign up for an Educator account on our Sites.
First name, last name, & school information
Publicly, we’ll use the display name you choose to share (for example, “Ms. B”) along with your school name and location. This publicly displayed name will be treated as non-confidential, and be used to identify your Fan Page on Fanschool and through any of our social media sharing tools.We’ll use your full name to deliver resources to your attention when a project is fully funded, and may share your full name with your school administrators and colleagues to confirm that you are eligible to use Fanschool.
We use your email address to set up your account, through which you can access educator-specific services such as registering to receive financial gifts via endorsements. We also use it to correspond with you regarding use of our Sites, deliver a regular newsletter, and contact you about special opportunities. If you choose to participate in our referral program, your email address will be shared along with other account information with a third-party service to verify that the referral is genuine and to detect fraudulent referrals.
We'll wish you a happy birthday! For educators, we’ll also post a note on your Fan Page to let fans know it’s your birthday.
Information That We Automatically Collect During Your Visit
When you visit our Sites, our web server automatically recognizes and collects your IP address. We also keep track of how users arrive at our Sites (e.g., via a search engine) and the path of users through our Sites. We also collect aggregate information about how our Sites are used, derived mainly from tallying page views throughout our Sites. This information helps us prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, and gauge how users respond to new features.
By using our Sites, you agree to the use of these tracking technologies.
Do Not Track Signals
Some web browsers may transmit “do not track” signals to the websites and other online services with which the browser communicates. There is no standard that governs what, if anything, websites should do when they receive these signals. We currently do not take action in response to these signals.

How We Share and Disclose Your Information
We do not sell or rent your information. We may use and disclose your personal information as described above and as follows:
-To operate our Sites and provide our services to you or to fulfill any other purposes for which you provide the information;
-To respond to your requests or questions or notify you about changes to the Sites;
-To allow our third parties to provide Site features and to perform services on our behalf, for example, with our fulfillment and service vendors, referral tracking services, payment processors, and site analytics tools such as Google Analytics;
-To investigate a suspected violation of our Terms of Service, suspected fraud, or other unlawful activity;As we believe may be required by law or by a court order;
-With any successor to all or part of our business or as part of a transaction in the event of a merger, acquisition, divestiture, change of control, or liquidation of Fanschool or part of its business (or in anticipation of such an event);
-With your consent or as we may describe to you when you provide the information; and
-As permissible under applicable laws and regulations.
How We Protect Your Information
Your privacy is essential, and we use physical, technical, and administrative safeguards designed to preserve the security of your personal information and protect it from unauthorized use or disclosure. When you endorse an Educator on our site, information about your gift is transmitted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and payment information is tokenized so that it’s never stored on our servers. We store data in cloud-based environments that use firewalls and other industry-standard protections in an effort to prevent access from outside intruders. Access to data is limited to those individuals who need it in order to perform their business function and protected wherever possible by two-factor authentication. Although we use appropriate security measures once we have received your personal information, the transmission of data over the internet (including by email) is never completely secure.
How We Protect Children’s Privacy
Our Sites are intended for educators, and families. Children under 18 require the consent of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect or solicit information from anyone under the age of 13 without parent approval. In the event that we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under the age of 13, we will delete that information as soon as practicable from our server. If you believe that we may have any information collected from a child under the age of 13, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We support school system compliance with COPPA, FERPA and IDEA.
We review educator endorsements prior to publicly display on an Educator’s Fan Page to ensure any student identifiers that were inadvertently included, such as a full name, email address, or phone number, are removed before being sent to donors, and we do not retain this information.
We will retain user account information for as long as needed to provide our services, comply with our contractual or legal obligations, audit requirements, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. We also retain deidentified, aggregate information about activity related to content and endorsements submitted on our Sites, to understand and gain insights into how Educators are being supported through our Sites.

How You Can Access and Adjust Your Information
You may correct your account information at any time by logging into your online account and modifying your profile or Fan Page. You have the right to request access to the personal information that we record about you. You also have the right to request corrections, amendments, and deletions of any of your personal information in our possession, including information you may have provided to us as part of a project submission. To make these changes or cancel your account, please contact email@example.com. Educators may, at any time, access their Fan Page to review, amend, or correct information provided about themselves. If an educator wishes to remove a photo,, they may do so by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have provided us with your information in order to receive updates about our Sites, you may unsubscribe from those updates at any time through links provided in our emails, or through your profile preferences.
